Premiere: Prin$e Alexander’s ‘Suffer In Silence’ Video Comes in Support of Palestine
The Indian-origin, Philadelphia rapper’s latest song also goes out to women and men who face abuse

Indian-origin Philadelphia rapper Prin$e Alexander aka Vivek Alexander Chakravarty’s new song “Suffer In Silence” comes out with an aim to “speak louder for the ones who don’t have a voice,” with artist reference global violence and abuse.
The rapper, who has been releasing music since 2016, tells Rolling Stone India that “Suffer In Silence” is meant to make the world think about the widespread unrest in Palestine and Israel as well as closer home, in all forms of abuse that humans endure. For the Indian-origin artist, the song is also about “overcoming racial inequality.” Starting with a piercing, anguished scream that leads into the beat and Prin$e Alexander’s hook, “Suffer In Silence” goes on to become a way to establish his credentials and confidence in the rap game.
Within the span of three minutes, Prin$e Alexander traverses melodic and hard-hitting bars, referencing everything from mental health and sexual abuse to overcoming racial inequality. The highlight on the production front includes eerie strings and what the artist describes as “a huge synth solo that sounds like it’s crying.” Mastered by audio engineer Kenny Mixx, the song comes with a music video directed by Wiz FX, one that sees a female protagonist in despair as well as the rapper wearing a kaffiyeh, the accessory that’s becoming synonymous with supporting Palestine.
Prin$e Alexander spoke about making a statement at a time when the music industry and artists are still hesitant to speak about the atrocities occurring in Gaza. “I’m tired of treading in shallow waters. It seems like nobody I know is taking a stand for anything but themselves, especially within the music industry,” he says. The rapper adds, “I can’t promise perfection, nor do I seek it, but it’s my responsibility as an artist paint the good, the bad, and ugly of this world. I can’t speak on what other artists should or shouldn’t do, but as humans on this earth, we have to step up for each other. We must speak up for those who don’t have a voice.”
“Suffer In Silence” marks Prin$e Alexander’s second release of the year so far, following his more raucous single “Rhino,” which came out in March. Previously in 2023, the rapper scored a big hit with “Permanent Vibes.”
