The track comes after the rapper’s release heavy 2020
Last year, Pune hip-hopper Siddhant Pillai not only put out seven singles, but he also released a three-track EP titled [XXX]. Now, he’s back with his latest offering, the stirring “007.”
Growing up, Pillai was influenced by Mozart to Megadeth and everything in between. He says, “Music was never genre specific for me, so I consumed all music.” While his own material is deep-rooted in hip-hop, Pillai adds, “My current sound is an amalgamation of what I grew up on.”
Pillai – who is a lawyer by a day – tells us that the title for his new song “has you feeling like James Bond and 007 is my area code.” He says, “I wrote it for everyone working a nine to five and for every independent artist who has a day job like myself.” With jazz and hip-hop elements plastered across the track, Pillai is hopeful that the song is able to motivate listeners.
The artist worked with producer Felicity on the track at sound engineer Yash Patil’s home studio. Patil even mixed and mastered the song. Looking ahead, Pillai says, “I have a few more singles in store which will shift into different genres.”
