Puscifer Offer ‘The Remedy,’ Revitalize Retired Luchador in New Video
Maynard James Keenan and co. return to the ring in wrestling-themed follow-up to “Money Shot”
Maynard James Keenan and Puscifer reenter the ring in the new video for “The Remedy,” another wrestling-themed clip with parallels to the previously released, “Money Shot.”
While “Money Shot” told a chaotic, nonlinear tale about a deal that goes south amidst a hail of slingshot fire, the narrative for “The Remedy” is much simpler. The video intersperses footage of Puscifer performing the cut in a wrestling ring with clips of an old man flipping through a scrapbook chronicling his glory days as a Luchador.
The trip down memory lane inspires the man to re-don his costume and mask, while shots of a metal briefcase ”” like the one fought over in “Money Shot” ”” suggest this Luchador had a hand in those disastrous events. While the contents of the case are never shown, when the man opens it at the end, his outfit changes from a drab undershirt and slacks to that of the Luchador he once was.
“The Remedy” appears on Puscifer’s new album, Money Shot, which saw release at the end of October. The band is currently touring North America, with dates scheduled through December 14th.
At the top of 2016, however, Keenan and Tool will embark on an eight-date tour, starting January 9th at the Viejas Arena in San Diego. News of the trek comes after Tool played their lone 2015 gig ”” a Halloween show in Arizona ”” and as fans continue to wait for the follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Keenan assured fans that Tool isworking on a new album, saying, “Do I seem like a lazy person to you? They’re working hard in their own way; I’m working hard in my own way, and I’ve got nothin’ for ya.”
