Since releasing their sixth studio album …Like Clockwork last June, Queens of the Stone Age have been riding a wave of critical acclaim and gaining a slew of new fans along the way. In the new issue of ROLLING STONE, frontman Josh Homme tells us that the band has no intentions of letting that momentum slide. When asked if the band is ready to make another album soon, Homme replied: “Absolutely. We have more than enough songs. We’re booked till September, but after that we plan to jump in the studio and get going.”

The band has been touring heavily since the release of Clockwork, playing sold-out shows across the United States in both large theaters and arenas, as well as finding time to tape an episode of Austin City Limits, which aired this past weekend. They’ll continue that heavy touring schedule into 2014, but Homme says that the studio is where the band is really thriving these days. “When it’s time to make music, that’s about getting lost for me. To be a control freak is not half as good as being a freak who’s casually in control. You’re feeling around in the dark for something that feels good. As long as you’re not in an orgy, that can be an amazing moment.”

The …Like Clockwork tour resumes on January 30th an Raleigh, N.C.’s Memorial Auditorium.
