India's first 'K-pop' stars will be answering questions from a few lucky fans
South Korea’s first Indian idols Priyanka Mazumdar and Siddhant Arora will be joining us next for the #RollingStoneVlog. The artists are part of the Singapore-based company COZMIC Group’s label Z-pop Dream and are members of Z-Girls and Z-Boys respectively. The Z-pop Dream project applies the K-pop training and marketing fomula on non-Korean Asian artists to see if it can create successful pop groups who will then promote in their individual countries. The other members of Z-pop Dream are from Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Since their debut in February, Z-Girls and Z-Boys have seen a large amount of success. Priyanka and Sid have caused the most conversation globally because they are the first Indians to debut in in South Korea as idols. They’re firm to point out that since they are not Korean and are not singing in Korean, they are not K-pop idols but a new breed called Z-pop idols, which refers to Gen-Z rather than any nationality.
If you have any questions for Priyanka and Sid about their lives in South Korea, their training process or just want to get to know them a little better, drop a question below.
