English rockers Radiohead seem to have left no trace of their official presence on the Internet, with all of their official social media accounts and website having gone completely blank [except their YouTube channel which remains unaffected]. This digital elimination occurred a day after fans in the UK received mysterious flyers from the band with the words “Sing the song of sixpence that goes ”˜Burn the witch’” on them.

Fans on Reddit believe this could herald the release of the band’s ninth studio album as the band have a reputation for adopting unique ways to announcing records. Sample this: their last LP In Rainbows was made available for online download at whatever price fans wished to pay.

Meanwhile, Radiohead have named their recently purchased limited liability partnership Dawn Chorus after International Dawn Chorus Day which happens to fall on May 1st – the day their social media began to go offline. The band has preceded the releases of their last two albums with similarly symbolic LLP purchases and actions, further fuelling fans’ hopes for a new album.

While nobody knows for sure, there is also speculation that the disappearance from social media could have something to do with frontman Thom Yorke’s reported disdain for music streaming and is a form of rebellion against the corporations that offer the service.

Radiohead erase all content from their Instagram [topmost], Facebook and Twitter.
