Radiohead: There Is No Sequel to ‘The King of Limbs’

Guitarist Ed O'Brien shoots down fan speculation that another album is on the way

Radiohead have shot down the possibility for a sequel to their new album The King of Limbs. In an interview with the BBC, guitarist Ed O’Brien responded to a question about rampant fan speculation about a follow up disc by flatly denying that this was ever a part of the band’s plan.

“There are [other] songs that we have started, that we never finished, but there’s not like seven or eight finished songs waiting in the wings to be released now, or in the autumn, or something,” O’Brien said. “When we start a new record, we tend to start afresh. It’s kind of an evolutionary thing– only the fittest survive.”

O’Brien also confirmed that “Supercollider” and “The Butcher,” the two songs that will appear on the band’s Europe-only Record Store Day single, are the only completed outtakes from the King of Limbs sessions.
