Mumbai-based composer and prolific drummer Ranjit Barot will join John McLaughlin as the drummer for McLaughlin and the 4th Dimension’s  summer tour in Europe. The tour kicks off on July 8, 2011 at the Nice Jazz Festival in France. Barot and McLaughlin have collaborated before, first on McLaughlin’s 2008 album Floating Point and more recently on Barot’s album Bada Boom released last year. Barot fills in a position that has been held in the past by drummers like Dennis Chambers, Mark Mondesir and Vinnie Colaiuta, among others.
