Renée Zellweger Seeks New Love in ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’ Trailer

Nearly a decade after the release of Bridget Jones’ Baby, Renée Zellweger has reprised the title role in the final installment of the beloved romcom franchise.

The new Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy trailer released Tuesday, sees Zellweger’s Bridget navigate the single life — again — after the tragic death of her husband Mark Darcy, and her friends all have the same question for the single mother of two: “Did you have sex?”

“Yes. I did. I had a full night of utterly mind-blowing sex and it was amazing!” Bridget says at the trailer’s end, mic’d up in front of a live studio audience.

Mad About the Boy picks up four years after Darcy’s death during a humanitarian mission in Sudan. Bridget returns to her TV news producer gig, and friends and former lovers, including Hugh Grant‘s Daniel Cleaver, step in to help her raise nine-year-old Billy and four-year-old Mabel. Potential love interests also enter the picture, like 29-year-old Roxster played by Leo Woodall (White Lotus) and a teacher at her kid’s school, Mr. Wallaker, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave).

Michael Morris (Better Call Saul) directed the fourth fourth franchise installment, and Helen Fielding, the author behind the novel of the same name, wrote the screenplay, with contributions from Abi Morgan and Dan Mazer. A slew of actors also reprise their roles in the final chapter of the Bridget Jones film series: Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones as Bridget’s parents, Emma Thompson as Dr. Rawlings, Sarah Solemani as Miranda, Sally Phillips as Shazzer, James Callis as Tom, and Shirley Henderson as Jude. New cast members include Leila Farzad, Isla Fisher, Josette Simon and Nico Parker. The Peacock film releases on Feb 19.
