Exclusive: Riar Saab Announces Debut EP ‘How I Love’

A year after the release of his 2022 hit song “Obsessed” with singer-producer Abhijay Sharma, Punjabi artist Riar Saab aka Tarun Singh Surjeet Singh Riyar has announced it will be a part of his upcoming debut EP How I Love, releasing on November 16th.

The five-track project from the Punjabi artist part of rap star DIVINE’s Gully Gang roster also includes his previously released single “Dreams,” produced by Hashbass aka Harshit Misra. How I Love EP will also include new songs like “Secrets,” which features Punjabi artist Kunwarr and is produced by Flamboy, “Midnight” produced by Stunnah Beatz and “Feelings,” which is also produced by Hashbass.

The themes are wholly fixated on Riar Saab’s thoughts and journeys in romance. While “Dreams” is already a hit on streaming services and short-form video, “Secrets” adds a bit of mystique to the idea of deeply admiring a person, with Kunwarr adding to the Punjabi pop/hip-hop blend.

The song “Midnight” is punctuated by a phone call skit, as Riar Saab channels regret, concern and hindsight into the mix. “Feelings,” the second track produced by Hashbass is hailed as the EP’s centerpiece, as Riar Saab expresses “an unwavering commitment” to keeping his love close to him. There’s a tenderness to the song. “It focuses on giving importance and communication as a crucial element of love in furtherance of the EP How I Love theme,” a press release for the EP states.

Riar Saab’s million-streamed “Obsessed” is also included on How I Love EP, which is no surprise since it ties into the themes of love. Riar Saab and Abhijay Sharma sing about a special girl in their lives on the drill-inspired song that sees Sharma play to his strengths as a classically-trained vocalist.

Riar Saab says in a statement about the EP, “I got a lot of love on ‘Obsessed,’ which made me realize that the audience is more receptive to my romantic pop vibe. I have based the theme of this EP around love as well, and it draws heavy inspiration from the experiences I have had on the personal front over the past year. How I Love is a heartfelt, genuine, and thought-provoking exploration of love, resonating with the soul and leaving a lasting impression on those who embark on this musical journey.”
