Rihanna has arrived in India ahead of her private performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Joining the 36-year-old singer are her numerous suitcases, a topic she jokingly discussed with her fans on Instagram on Thursday (February 29).
Recent footage captured Rihanna’s arrival in Jamnagar for the event, where she’s set to deliver a compilation of her greatest hits. This marks her first live performance since Super Bowl LVII.
Accompanying the renowned pop icon are her sizable luggages, which she humorously addressed to her followers on social media.
A video shared on the day of her arrival depicted a procession of carts pulled by a transport vehicle, each laden with large boxes concealed under a tarpaulin.
After a fan posted the clip on Instagram, one commentator jokingly asked, “What [did] she bring with her? A folding house?”
Rihanna spotted the comment and responded, “The stage couldn’t fit in my carry-on.”
Apart from Rihanna, Ambani and Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations will see performances by the likes of Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, B Praak, Pritam, Hariharan, and Ajay-Atul.
The guest list for the event includes names like Mark Zuckerberg, Shah Rukh Khan, Ivanka Trump, Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates, Rajinikanth, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Disney CEO Bob Iger.
During Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha’s wedding in 2018, the family invited Beyoncé to perform at the event. In the following year, when the Reliance industry head’s eldest son Akash got married, the pre-wedding celebrations in Switzerland featured live performances by Chris Martin of Coldplay and The Chainsmokers.
