Rockstar DSP Announces London Shows in January 2024

Music composer Rockstar DSP aka Devi Sri Prasad has set his sights on international shows to kick off the new year, with two London concerts on January 13th and 14th at the OVO Arena Wembley. The first show will feature all of Rockstar DSP’s Telugu film songs, followed by the Tamil songs taking centerstage on January 14th.

The hitmaker behind songs like “Srivalli” and “Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava” from Pushpa: The Rise in 2021 has been promoting his live shows with his tried and tested attention-catching, high-energy combo of dancing, singing and performing (which cues up to spell DSP, as the artist has pointed out in his videos).

In an interview with Rolling Stone India in 2023, the artist spoke about why he always loves to be a showman and how it doesn’t come with any pressure. “I think in every part of life, you have to enjoy everything that comes your way, whether it’s criticism or whether it’s appreciation. That is, again, maturity. The most important part of life or the most important thing in life is being happy. Whether it’s creativity or whether it’s just existing or surviving. Whatever it is, there is no point if you’re not happy,” he says.

Rockstar DSP joins the likes of several artists who have performed arena shows in the U.K. in recent times, from Badshah to Satinder Sartaaj to Adnan Sami, Atif Aslam and more.

Outside of the shows coming up in 2024, the music director is chipping away at composing music for films such as Thandel, Kanguva and Ustaad Bhagat Singh which are likely to showcase more of Rockstar DSP’s genre-hopping approach to soundtracks.

There’s also an untitled film directed by Vikas Bahl in the works, starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan that Devi Sri Prasad is on board for as a composer. It is scheduled for release on March 8th, 2024.

Earlier in 2023, Rockstar DSP was on the cover of Rolling Stone India and spoke about working across different film music industries. “Nowadays, I don’t think it’s any different. We have always been seeing that songs have been accepted across languages. There is more of an acceptance now. And one more thing is when people want something new, some novelty… what is not theirs is only new to them, right? Sometimes being native is good, sometimes not being native is good.”
