Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2013 Nominees Announced

Skyharbor, 1833 AD, Devoid, Noiseware and Heretic are top contenders of the fourth edition of RSMA

Published by

This year’s Rolling Stone Metal Awards nominees feature a mix of metal sub-genres ”“ from the skull-crushing thrash metal of Devoid to one of the leading Indian bands on the world map, prog metallers Skyharbor.

Mumbai thrash metal band Devoid and Bengaluru-based Kochi alt metal band Heretic pick up six nominations each, including Best Band, Best Album [for Devoid’s The Invasion EP and Heretic’s Words To Epilogues], Best Song and Best Vocalist, among others. Devoid were also nominated at RSMA 2011 for their full-length album, A God’s Lie.

The Delhi-based bands Skyharbor [who released Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos last year] and black metallers 1833 AD [for their 2012 album, My Dark Symphony] pick up five nominations, as does Pune experimental metal band Noiseware, who released their single, “Flicker,” in August last year.

Mumbai progressive death metal band Orion picks up four nominations for their EP, On The Banks Of Rubicon, while Guwahati metallers Rectified Spirit is in the competition with  three nominations for their self-titled full-length album released last year.

Public voting will be open later today. Look out for more details on our Facebook page and on Rolling Stone Metal Awards page.
