This new series of music gigs will kick off this weekend at R-City Mall, Ghatkopar
Two days, four bands and a mall takeover: Rolling Stone Stage is all set to launch this weekend. The first gig in the series is set to take place at R-City Mall in Ghatkopar, Mumbai.
Punk rock band Punk On Toast who will perform on the first day of Rolling Stone Stage will play a full one-hour set. Says the band frontman Aditya Naik, “We’re going to play some tracks from our latest EP For Hire, along with some new songs we just wrote.” The new tracks include “MH370” about the mysterious plane crash by the same name. Adds Naik, “We’ll also try to include some cover songs of Green Day and other big punk bands to attract the crowd.”
The first day of Rolling Stone Stage will also feature Mommy’s Not Home, while the second day will feature classic rock band Treble Bite and alt-rockers Insignia. Treble Bite lead guitarist Vikram Khade says, “People don’t normally get to listen to classic rock in malls as far as I know, so I think our music will be a refreshing experience for them. We’re going to play some covers of bands like AC/DC and Kiss, which I think our audience is really going to dig.”
With all forms of alternative music being showcased over the weekend, it might be a true test for all four bands to draw a crowd of shopaholics to their set and maybe even have them hooting for an encore.
Rolling Stone Stage will be launched 7 pm onwards at R-City Mall in Ghatkopar on April 25th and 26th.
