Rono Releases Charming New Single ‘All Afternoon’

The track is the Mumbai-based singer-songwriter’s second release of the year

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Ronit Sarkar aka Rono is out with a brand new single entitled “All Afternoon.” The latest track comes after the musician’s previous release this year, the evoking “Raat.” “All Afternoon” is an ode to love and includes Rono’s meticulous musical sensibilities from pop songwriting to bluesy guitar parts and groovy rhythms.

Talking about the track, Rono says, “This might be one of the most all-out love songs I have ever written. It’s inspired by the feeling of falling for someone all over again, and just spending time feeling each other’s company, being silly and stupid and vulnerable.” The singer-songwriter adds, “It’s slow and sparse to begin, and then gently and gradually builds to a false climax that then suddenly bursts into a psychedelic guitar solo. It takes sonic cues from D’angelo and Mayer. Instrumentally, it’s just live drums, bass, an electric piano and a bunch of electric guitar. I really enjoyed getting to be a guitar player on this; I usually use guitars to build ambiance or grit, this is the first time I’ve done so much melodic work with it.”

With a music video for “All Afternoon” set to be released soon, going forward Rono plans to release two more singles, one in Hindi and the other in English.
