The latest edition of festival series and song collaborations Royal Stag BoomBox has announced its lineup of artists for season three, including pop star Armaan Malik, hip-hop star Raftaar, singer-songwriter Nikhita Gandhi, singer-composer Amit Trivedi, singer Neeti Mohan and DJ Yogii.
These artists, along with other stars, are on the lineup for festival editions taking place across the country. So far, Royal Stag BoomBox has already taken place in Hyderabad, Thane and Gurugram. Now, it heads on to Guwahati (Mar. 1), with Armaan Malik, Nikhita Gandhi, rap star Ikka and DJ Yogii on the lineup.
The platform is also partnering with marketing agency Ampverse DMI Pulse to add gaming experiences at festival events. A press release says, “Leveraging their expertise in identifying youth trends and the intersection of gaming and entertainment, a lineup of top gaming influencers has been curated, who resonate with audiences in each city.” Among them is Gaming YouTuber ShreeMan LegenD.
On the music front, Royal Stag BoomBox includes several returning artists like Gandhi, Malik, Mohan and Trivedi. Raftaar, among the new entrants this edition, says he fits right into the fusion of Bollywood melodies and hip-hop that the platform claims as its USP. The rapper behind film songs like “Tamanche Pe Disco” and “Dhakad” says, “Bollywood plays a very big role in hip-hop coming into mainstream. So, I would like to give it back to them and showcase some of my side of music. That’s what I’m going to use this for.” At his performances, Raftaar hinted that you might just see spontaneous collaborations happen. “This is not something you might find on YouTube, so that’s very much the reason you should be there,” he adds.
Malik announces that he’s going to be part of the festival series and song collaboration for the third year in a row now. In addition to performances, Malik will team up with Ikka for their song. Malik says, “It’s always been special because we perform in different cities every time we come together, and the show is exciting. I get to perform a very special set for the audiences in those cities and collaborate with someone that I’ve always wanted to do a song with – Ikka and I am glad that we got together because of this platform. We made a song that we’re very, very happy with and proud of.”
Gandhi, too, is a third-time featured artist as part of Royal Stag BoomBox. She says, “I think it’s more than an IP, it’s a movement and I love it.” In terms of the shows, she adds there’s plenty of new material compared to previous editions. “People get to experience the new stuff that that I release as an artist both independently and in films,” she adds.
