With two successful gigs since its launch, Rolling Stone Stage will continue to spotlight upcoming musical talent with a set of live gigs at R-City Mall in Ghatkopar. This weekend’s edition will bring a fresh mix of acoustic and rock music to the ears of R-City’s shopping crowd with Delhi-based solo artist Fat Yellow Moon and Mumbai guitarist Arnold Panting on May 9th, and Thane-based hard rockers The Rock Roads Project and Mumbai alternative rock band Table For Three (both playing an acoustic set) on May 10th.

RS Stage has quickly turned into a launchpad for budding artists. Musician Abhishek Chandran aka Fat Yellow Moon will perform the first gig of his career this weekend. Says Chandran, “I think this gig will give me the feel of playing in front of a lot of people, something I haven’t done before on my own. I’m just going to do what I do best, and hope that the crowd likes my voice and guitar-playing. I want it to be a very interactive performance where my music can make a connection with the audience.”

Having been around since 2011, The Rock Roads Project hopes to revive the classic rock sound that was popular between the 1960s and the 1990s. Vocalist Amey Gawand says of their gig this weekend, “It’s going to include our original songs as well as covers of classic bands like Nirvana, The Doors and Deep Purple. Even though we’re playing an acoustic set, we’re hoping to deliver that classic rock vibe in our guitar-playing.”

All the artists are, of course, hoping to take their music to a new and wider audience at RS Stage. Adds Chandran, “I’m also hoping that I’ll get some feedback from the audience that night after my first-ever performance.”

RS Stage will take place at R-City Mall, Ghatkopar on May 9th and 10th at 7pm. Event details here.
