Cruize69, Blame the Herb, Arjun and the Teenage Boys and Vernon Noronha will perform at the fifth edition of the gig series
The penultimate edition of Rolling Stone Stage is all set to entertain music fans again this weekend. The line-up includes blues rock trio Cruize69, alt-rockers Blame the Herb, pop rock act Arjun and the Teenage Men and solo musician Vernon Noronha, who has previously performed at RS Stage at R-City Mall in Mumbai.
Kicking off this weekend’s set is blues/rock band Cruize 69, who have performed at various college fests and local gigs. The brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Rohan Shirsolkar, Cruize 69 has been active since 2012 and is looking forward to their debut gig at a mall. Says Shirsolkar, “We are aiming to get the crowd’s attention with our original compositions and hopefully connecting with them.”
Five weekends on, bands who have performed at RS Stage have been reaching out to a brand new audience and using the platform as a testing ground for their music. A lot of the bands made their stage debut at the series. Pop/rock band Arjun and the Teenage Men is another such band, who will play their first ever gig at a mall this week. Says Arjun Dharaj, the band’s frontman, “We have played a number of pub gigs before and our set list for RS Stage will contain originals as well as covers of pop classics.”
For four-member band Blame The Herb, who have performed shows at malls in Mumbai in the past, RS Stage is familiar territory. The band will perform a a mix of originals and covers, one of which even includes their own rendition of Hindi film classic “Dum Maro Dum.” Singer-songwriter Vernon Noronha also returns to RS Stage this weekend and plans to perform material from his unreleased EP Closer To Home along with a few covers.
