Russ Promises ‘Super Special and Monumental’ India Debut This Week

The hip-hop heavy-hitter performs in Mumbai on October 28th and in New Delhi on October 29th

With Russ’ India shows announced early in the year, it was a bit of wait and watch to see whether the Atlanta rap hero would make it eventually make it to Mumbai and New Delhi this October. After all, there were new promoters (Avrik Live) and an India debut in the mix, which has often been a jinx in the past.

Nevertheless, the week is here and the “What They Want” hitmaker has already put out a video shoutout for fans and is on his way to perform in Mumbai (October 28th) and in New Delhi (October 29th), alongside rapper-producer Bugus. Russ said in a statement, “It’s about time, you all have been asking for live shows and it’s finally happening. I’m super excited for this entire tour and also having the chance to visit India for the first time. It’s going to be super special and monumental. Can’t wait to see you all and perform.”

Russ – who recently released his single “BET” earlier in October and collaborated with pop frontrunner Ed Sheeran for “Are You Entertained” in July – is certainly one of the bigger hip-hop artists to hit India this year. Capitalizing on this is clothing brand Odd Not Even, who are working as official merchandize partners. Additionally, Mumbai event and artist management company Rock Age Entertainment is also working with Avrik Live to co-produce the Mumbai leg. While DJ Calvin is slated to be the opening act in Mumbai, Indian-origin rapper ZZ aka Zefaan Kanwar is on the bill for the New Delhi show.
