Sarathy Korwar Preps DJ Set Tour Kicking Off Next Week

The U.K.-based drummer and producer will perform in New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad

Having recently released his shapeshifting album More Arriving and fresh off his performance at Bacardi NH7 Weekender Meghalaya earlier this month, U.K.-based percussionist and producer Sarathy Korwar is now gearing up for his three-city DJ set tour next week.

Korwar will be behind the deck on November 27th at New Delhi’s Summer House Café, Mumbai’s Khar Social on November 28th and Hyderabad’s Heart Cup Coffee on December 1st.

On learning that this will be Korwar’s first few performances as a DJ, we asked him why he decided to perform his music in this fashion. He tells us, “I’ve always enjoyed playing out music that I dig. Through my work as a radio host (Worldwide FM, Boxout FM) I’m constantly looking for new music and this is a chance to play out some club-friendly tunes.” He adds, “I think it’s always interesting to hear what live musicians bring to their DJ sets as it helps paint a bigger picture of their influences. Hopefully, I can give people a glimpse into the kind of music I love and also make them dance!”

The producer will perform at each gig for around 90 minutes and explains that since this entire set is new, everyone is in for a surprise, including himself. He says, “I will be playing a mix of some of my own remixes and tunes that I love from the U.K., India, North Africa and beyond. Expect some cross-genre, heavy drum samples, house and groove music.”

Once the tour wraps up, Korwar heads to Bengaluru on December 8th to perform at the Echoes Of Earth Festival after which he goes to Thailand for the Wonderfruit Festival in Pattaya on December 13th.

Sarathy Korwar India Tour Dates:

November 27th – Summer House Café, New Delhi

November 28th – Khar Social, Mumbai

December 1st – Heart Cup Coffee, Hyderabad
