Scribe

Scribe is not just any band – it’s somewhat of a supergroup. I’ve seen all the members of Scribe in their previous bands and I think when they came together, it was just a perfect fit. They kind of took the scene by storm and because they were playing a genre that was rarely touched upon by bands at that time ”“ hardcore – they definitely had an edge and an interesting sound. I remember when they started, they did a fair amount of covers but over time they evolved and found their own sound and from then on there was no stopping them. With Confect I think they found their “core” sound (no pun intended) and it’s going to be really interesting to see where they go from here.
In the current scene, Scribe has definitely set a benchmark for the younger bands to follow, especially with their live act and the way Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy pretty much has the audience eating out of his hands. From bringing people on stage to mosh and dance to putting prank calls on their CDs (”˜Dr Salafiya’ is now legendary!), this is a band that wears their quirkiness on their sleeve and that really endears people to them. They’ve essentially just had a drive to play anywhere and everywhere and give it a 100 per cent each time and I think its because of that and the fact that they write fantastic music that they’ve reached where they have. They’d really take over the scene if they weren’t so lazy at marketing themselves!
