The Mumbai singer-songwriter duo will hit nine cities along with their extended band to promote their 2021 full-length debut album ‘Coral’
Mumbai singer-songwriter duo Second Sight – consisting of musicians Anusha Ramasubramoney and Pushkar Srivatsal – released their highly acclaimed 10-track full-length debut album, Coral, in November 2021. Since then, the pair have been plotting to take their full band set-up, which includes keyboardist Hardik Pandya, drummer Shivang Kapadia and bassist Ralph Menezes, on the road for live performances.
This week, Second Sight will be doing just that as part of their Coral tour. The band is set to hit nine cities across India and will play their opening show on May 18th at New Delhi’s Depot48. That will be followed by gigs at The Piano Man Jazz Club in Gurugram, The Evening Club and Urban Mantra in Shillong and Guwahati, respectively, Pune’s Swing, Bengaluru’s Fandom At Gilly’s Redefined, as well as shows at Chennai’s Asvah 24 and Goa’s Hideaway, before they wrap things up with a hometown gig at Veranda in Mumbai.
Srivatsal says, “Of course, since Anusha and I have been doing this mostly by ourselves, it’s been rather hectic trying to balance the planning, budgeting, content creation and promoting the tour all by ourselves, but it’s a massive learning curve, and we believe that we definitely need to get out and play with the band, and hopefully attract more attention, maybe towards a festival bill perhaps. We are very excited to properly tour around the country with the music and cover new ground and play to new audiences who don’t know us.”
Second Sight will perform tracks off Coral as well as bring in newer material that they are currently working on. The band also plans to incorporate guest artists at some of the shows and will also be selling merch in the form of t-shirts. “We also plan to document the tour as extensively as possible, and possibly record some podcast vlogs with the band,” says Srivatsal.
