"We asked you to show us what was happening in your corner of the world for our Amazing Day global film project. Thousands of you did," band says
Coldplay compiled footage that captures fans’ definition of an “Amazing Day” in the new video for the Head Full of Dreams single, featuring crowd-sourced video submitted to the band.
“On November 19 2016, we asked you to show us what was happening in your corner of the world for our Amazing Day global film project,” the band wrote of the video Tuesday. “Thousands of you did.”
The video is equal parts smiling fans’ selfies, worldwide sightseeing tour (shots of Big Ben, the Taj Mahal, the Washington Monument and more are featured), Coldplay concert footage and other moments that encapsulate an “amazing day,” like birthday parties, sports celebrations, playing music or simply enjoying a sunset.
“Amazing Day” follows similarly inventive A Head Full of Dreams-era videos for “Adventure of a Lifetime,” “Up & Up,” “Hymn for the Weekend” and the title track. In November, Chris Martin revealed that the band was working on new music for an upcoming EP titled Kaleidoscope, due out in 2017.
