The track is the band’s fourth single
Last month, Mangalore alt-rock outfit Garden Square dropped their raucous new single “Burnt Hours.” The band – comprising vocalist Galvin Fernandes, bassist Melrick Pais, guitarists Melroy D’Souza Nazreth D’Souza and Rayner Fernandes as well as drummer Vishak – formed in 2019 while in college together. According to the group, they began working on the new song around the same. “It was written under the working title ‘Rain’ one evening during a jam session in order to write an original for the upcoming battle of bands,” says Pais.
The track features punchy guitar parts, pulsating drums and soaring vocals. With its full blow rock approach, complete with a fiery guitar solo too, the song itself paints a picture of an induvial who has grown tired of life’s mundane routines. “The angsty protagonist speaks about breaking through the shackles of monotony and living each day to its fullest,” says Galvin.
With a performance video also out for the song, next on the group’s agenda is to release their debut EP later this year. While they continue to grow as a band and musicians, their main aim is to “write new music by testing the limits and continuing to develop the unique alternative sound and style we’ve created.”
