Paul Thomas Anderson-directed clip is latest pared-down sampling of group's recent LP, 'A Moon Shaped Pool'
Radiohead‘s Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood recorded a stripped-down version of their moody, heady A Moon Shaped Pool deep cut “The Numbers” for a new video. The pair sit facing each other on a bench in Tarzana, California, playing sullen guitar lines along with a Roland CR-78 drum machine. Filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice) directed the minimalist clip this past August.
Yorke and Greenwood released a similarly pared-down, Anderson-helmed video for the Moon song “Present Tense” last month. The director also worked on the group’s “Daydreaming” clip.
In other news, the group will play its last scheduled gig of the year Friday in Austin, Texas as part of the Austin City Limits Music Festival, concluding their tour to support the album, which came out this past spring. They have yet to announce any touring plans for the future.
