'Tiny Bit Of Sky' is part of the Mumbai blues rock band’s forthcoming fifth album
Mumbai blues rock band Blackstratblues’ Warren Mendonsa.
A week ago, Mumbai blues-rockers Blackstratblues dropped their first piece of new music since their 2017 LP The Last Analog Generation.
The new track, “Tiny Bit Of Sky” – part of the band’s forthcoming fifth album – is a relaxing ditty filled with beautiful licks and a soaring solo by guitarist Warren Mendonsa. Amongst the rest of the band, drummer Jai Row Kavi holds a bouncy groove that blends seamlessly with bassist Adi Mistry’s low end while keyboardist Beven Fonseca contributes with a hooky keyboard part. The group’s high musicianship and versatility come through in every note of the song with their clever dynamics and knowing when to amp it up and bring it back down.
The accompanying play through music video for the track – shot at Mumbai’s Island City Studios by Mosambi Juice Productions – opens with Mendonsa explaining how he came up with the parts for the song. “It’s a nice little lullaby, so I hope my daughter likes it,” he says. Blackstratblues will roll out a new video every week up until the release of their new record due next month.
