Seo In-guk as Dud and Park So-dam as Death in the Upcoming K-Drama ‘Death’s Game’

This may be a superb fantasy K-drama that director Ha Byung-hoon intends to give thanks to its story and its cast roster

What is the big thing that you are looking forward to? The bigger picture, I mean. Do you have a dream project on your mind? I had asked the lionized Seo In-guk in our interview with him. The Korean superstar’s prompt answer underscored his allegiance to what he wants. “I want to concentrate on being a better actor and singer and express myself better. I want to exhibit my stronger sides by selecting good scripts, characters, and genres.” That remains a constant in his life’s trajectory. He is an actor who breaks habits, welcomes fresh perspectives, and strives to be the finest artist he can be.

His archive of super hits, including Master’s Sun (2013), High School King of Savvy (2014), Hello Monster (2015), Squad 38 (2016), Shopping King Louie (2016), The Smile Has Left Your Eyes (2018), Doom at Your Service (2021), and Café Minamdang (2022), is an extension of his experienced decision-making, consciousness, and thrill. With his follow-up projects—Death’s Game in this instance—he ought to have ramped that up.

The outline of Death’s Game, drawing on the acclaimed webtoon of the same name by Lee Won-sik and GGulchan, is rather intriguing. Choi Yi-Jae (Seo), a full-blown loser, opts for death because he is sick of being one. But as an effect of his frivolous mindset, Death (Park So-dam) enters to chastise him by causing him to die in succession through 12 incarnations before damnation. That may help him realize how worthwhile life is when the events that follow unfold.

Death will unavoidably instinctively overrun the screen, gain control, and leave nothing with a chance to be noteworthy in Park So-dam’s representation of it. I’m looking forward to seeing her in a K-drama at her most expressive for the first time in a while. I’m curious how she and Seo will collaborate in the game of death she drags him into and the epic that unfolds with an extensive accompanying cast. The most compelling proof of the superb fantasy K-drama that director Ha Byung-hoon intends to give lies in its cast roster, also featuring Kim Ji-hoon, Choi Si-won, Sung Hoon, Kim Kang-hoon, Jang Seung-jo, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Do-hyun, Go Youn-jung, Kim Jae-wook, and Oh Jung-se.

This December marks the planned release of Death’s Game.
