Seori Becomes The First Korean Female Artist To Perform on Grammy Global Spin

Seori is also the second South Korean artist representing the country following fellow singer-songwriter B.I's performance in January 2022

South Korean singer-songwriter and K-R&B’S rising star Seori is the first Korean female artist to perform on Grammys’ Global Spin.

Premiered on September 28th, 2021, the digital performance series aims at spotlighting rising talents in K-pop, Afrobeat and Latin music. Each episode features artists and groups paying homage to their culture while sharing their artistry with the world.

In the latest episode, its South Korean singer-songwriter who takes center stage with a lush performance of her March 2021 single “Lovers In The Night.” Filmed at Deoksugung Palace, Seori celebrates her rich Korean roots in a contemporary hanbok, marking the Lunar New Year.

The live performance sees the artist breathe life into the track as she sings: “Wait for the night/ When the moon’s in sight/ Then I’ll have you/ I’ll cover you.” Her breathy vocalization gleams through the dreamy synth-percussion arrangement, underlining the soothing, mellow vocal range she’s celebrated for. 

Best known for her feature on HYBE’s popular supergroup Tomorrow x Together (TXT)’s hit single “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)”, from their chart-topping album The Chaos Chapter: Freeze, Seori shares her inspiration behind the track: “When I first sang this song, I remember that it was a time that we were able to hang out together and have fun without any time or spatial restriction. But now with the pandemic situation, we have to go home by sunset.”

Expressing her gratitude for being selected to perform at Global Spin she continues, “I still can’t believe that I can get to sing for Grammy’s Global Spin! It is such a great honor and I really appreciate your love and support. Please look forward to the upcoming songs and albums. Thank you Grammy!”
