SF9 Makes A Comeback With A Suave and Groovy Single ‘Trauma’

Accompanied by a music video, "Trauma" leads the group’s latest EP 'Rumination'

Searching for possible routes to heal from all that they are going through, K-pop boy group SF9 makes a suave comeback with their latest release “Trauma.”

Leading the group’s 10th EP Rumination, “Trauma” is driven by a smooth soul groove with intensified synth-bass, instantly becoming the track’s appealing aspect. Written by Han Sung Ho along with SF9 members Youngbin, Zuho, and Hwiyoung, the track places its focus on recovering from trauma. With lyrics hinting at healing from a toxic romantic relationship, SF9 expresses a strong desire to move on from the memories that engulf their senses:”Can I ever let you go?/ Never never/ Jammed in my hearts/Shards of memories of you.”

The chorus experiences a delightful shift, blending in an almost retro funk melody as the lyrics echo “Cause you ain’t my trauma/ ‘Cause you ain’t my trauma/ Oh you are not my trauma/ Inside my mind.”

Keeping the visual quotient effortlessly sleek, SF9 brings forth a choreography and strong-driven approach, showing what it takes each member to overcome their trauma. Towards the end of the choreography, the group opts for a minimalist yet elegant and smooth mix of moves, highlighting the SF9’s commitment to their art.

SF9’s 10th EP Rumination offers a close look at the group’s universe, revealing stories of each member. The seven-track project comes four months after their EP Turn Over
