Goa-based DJ-producer Shaun Moses has been honing a new moniker – simply called Moses – over the last few years and his latest track “Made To Rave” delivers an intense, high-tempo tune for Asymetrik’s new Machine Loops compilation.

Moses’ “Made To Rave” appears on the 10th Machine Loops compilation ever since it started as a two-track release by Asymetrik founder and New Delhi-origin seasoned electronic artist Arjun Vagale. Moses appears on the various artists album alongside electronic artists like Chaz, Dotdat, Dave Wincent, Loopover, Namhar and Skeef Menezes (whose track “Subconscious Mind” gets a rework from Vagale himself).

Moses says about his contribution to the compilation, “The Machine Loops series on Asymetrik focuses on tracks that are more stripped-down, loopy, drum-heavy, raw and hypnotic.” He says about “Made To Rave” and says it has a “fairly simple layout but the drums and lead amalgamate well to create this intense groove that gets you hooked and locked in.” Moses adds, “I still remember the night I recorded it, I didn’t even need a second take, the first was just perfectly automated and I knew that this was a track that would fit the label’s style perfectly.”

The artist is all praise for Vagale and considers him “one of the pioneers in the Indian techno circuit.” Moses previously led the sixth edition of the Machine Loops series, with two tracks “Long Shortcuts” and “Mood Swings” in 2022.

Under his full name Shaun Moses, the artist had a significant breakthrough in electronic music in 2021, when he released “Mixed Signals” with fellow producer Aardy. In 2023, he released Neon Nebula EP via DutchGem Records, teaming up with the label’s founder Secret Cinema.

The current moniker of Moses will have plenty more releases to his name this year, according to the artist. He says, “I intentionally created [this alias] a few years ago to showcase a different production style and character of mine.”
