What Sixpack Heroes Has In Store

Goa-based EDM producer Anish Sood has a new project. Find out what you can expect from it this weekend

Sixpack Heroes

While Anish Sood, like most artists, is wary of labeling his work, the EDM producer settles on deep house to describe his latest solo project Sixpack Heroes, which marks a designed, genre-mashing departure from his staple tech house. ROLLING STONE India spoke to the artist, who is making his live debut this weekend in Mumbai:

 Sounds like:
Jon Hopkins, Disclosure, Catz n Dogz, Goldroom and Hot Natured.

 Influences:
“A bunch of different styles and places I travelled to over the past few years. The UK House/Garage revival has definitely played a large role in influencing my new sound. In a fully different space, my holiday in Berlin last year was pretty evolutionary for me as a musician.”

Genre:
“I really have no idea. Each release is going to be different and will hover somewhere between electronica, deep house and techno. However I’m one of those people that starts writing a song without knowing where it’s going to end up, so if I write a cool disco track, then that’s next!”

Future collaborations:
“I’d love to work on something with Dualist Inquiry. We’ve been hanging out a lot in the recently and I’m really impressed with his new stuff and how he’s shifting gears into new sounds. I think at some point in the future we’ll meet at a musical mid-point and that could be a lot of fun!”
