Delhi prog metal band Skyharbor have spent the last three months recording for their second album, but that’s no indication that the band stopped looking at touring. Skyharbor are part of the new list of bands announced to play at Download Festival at Donington Park, UK, between June 13th and 15th. The band, who played their first international gig at Euroblast Festival in Cologne, Germany in 2012, made their UK debut in July last year at Tech Fest, followed by a Europe tour in October.

Guitarist Keshav Dhar says the festival appearance was confirmed and set up by their booking agents in the UK and are in talks to confirm more shows around Europe in June. Dhar is also looking forward to catching the other bands on the lineup, including recently-reunited experimental metal band SiKth. Says Dhar, “There’s no question about who I want to watch the most. I think SiKth is the whole reason a lot of people are even coming to Download.” Also performing at Download Festival are alternative metal band LinkinPark, heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, pop punk band Fall Out Boy and more.

At Download, Skyharbor play at the Red Bull stage on June 14th, followed by a set at Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium between June 27th and 29th. Dhar hopes to release at least one Skyharbor single by the time they play in Europe. Says Dhar, “The whole album is finished instrumentally, so it just needs vocals.  It’s very close to being finished in demo form and it just Anup’s drums. He’s been on tour and needs to get back home before he does that, but we will probably have new material out by then.”
