The former G N’R guitarist on says that there’s no bad blood between him and Axl Rose and that he is open to a reunion in an interview on CBS
In an appearance on the CBS This Morning show to promote his new music video, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash said that he’s open to a reunion of the legendary band’s classic line-up. Slash was on the show to promote the new music video for “Beneath The Savage Sun” – his song with his band Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators ”“ which was produced to raise awareness for endangered elephants. When asked the interview inevitably turned to talk of a possible reunion with Guns N’ Roses, the guitarist responded by saying, “Never say never.”
Said Slash, “It’s been one of those things that’s been talked about by everybody but us for over the last 18, 19 years.” When asked if he has ever talked with his former bandmate Axl Rose, he replied, “Well, we haven’t really talked in a long time, but a lot of the tension that you were talking about has dissipated. We don’t have all those issues anymore. It’s not a lot of controversy. It’s something that is more perpetuated by the media, more than anything.”
About whether he personally wants this reunion to happen, Slash stated, “I got to be careful what I say there, I mean, if everybody wanted to do it and do it for the right reasons, I think the fans would love it. I think it might be fun at some point to try and do that.” However, when asked about what those “reasons” might be, the guitarist was less forward with his answer. “I mean, that’s a hard one,” he responded. “That just starts to get into a whole complex thing ”¦ it’s really between the guys in the band.”
