Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson survived a potentially deadly knife fight with his brother Andrew on Wednesday. The incident occurred at 4 a.m. in the front yard of a residence in Clive, Iowa, where police found both brothers, reportedly drunk, showing non-life-threatening stab wounds; authorities said the guitarist sustained one in the back of his head. Both were taken to hospitals in separate ambulances, according to The Des Moines Register.

“Neither individual was very cooperative,” Clive Police Chief Michael Venema told the New York Daily News. “Our detectives will be following up as soon as their medical situation allows us.”

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor tweeted that he’d heard his bandmate was “OK.” “We’re sending him all your thoughts,” the singer wrote. “Thank you for that.”

The group is set to embark on a North American tour next month, and the band’s manager told TV station KCCI (via Page Six) that the guitarist would definitely be present for the tour kickoff in Fort Myers, Florida on April 25th. The tour will run through late May, after which Slipknot will head to Europe for a run before returning to the U.S. for a summer tour, spanning July through September.

Last year, Slipknot put out their first record since the death of founding bassist Paul Gray, .5: The Gray Chapter. “We didn’t realize we were taking our time with Paul for granted,” Taylor told Rolling Stone last year about how his bandmate’s death affected him in relation to the LP. “I’ll be damned if I do it with these guys.”
