The Mumbai rapper delivers fiery bars on the fresh track
Mumbai rapper Chaitnya Sharma aka SlowCheeta returned this week with a fresh new single, the punchy “DHOKEBAAZ.”
The artist’s first release of 2023 has been inspired by his own experiences as he showcases his hard-hitting rhymes against a pulsating back beat. Produced by drummer-producer Shwetang Shankar, the rapper celebrates those who have been by his side through thick and thin. He said in a statement, “’ Dhokebaaz’ reflects on how one can deal with anything that life throws at you with your tribe by your side. Be loyal to yourself, and to your people and no matter what you will come on top of everything.”
The song features a grungy sound, away from what we’ve previously heard from the rapper. There are also dark soundscapes and other production touches that make the track quite a listen. SlowCheeta adds, “It vouches for the fact that if you are loyal and stay the course, you can get out of any situation. Ride together. Die together.”
SlowCheeta has also released a music video to accompany the song which has been directed by Mikhail Anand. In the clip, the rapper is seen performing the track in a sort of warehouse with a number of people from his crew joining him in the striking performance.
