Jazz-fusion eclectic act Snarky Puppy will make their way down to India this December, performing two open-air gigs in Mumbai (on December 2nd) and Gurugram (on December 3rd), marking their return to the country nearly a decade after their debut in 2014.

The band, best known not just for their massive number of members on stage who weave in and out of dexterous but soulful groovy music, first performed in Mumbai as part of Johnnie Walker: The Journey in December 2014. This time around, they’re brought back by promoters Hyperlink Brand Solutions. Snarky Puppy will be supported by U.K. trio High Fade, who will dole out funk and disco vibes in both cities. More artists are expected to join the lineup for the two shows, which take place at Bayview Lawns in Mumbai and at DLF Cyberhub in Gurugram.

General access tickets are now on sale for ₹2,500 and a premium ticket that gives access to “a dedicated area closest to the stage” is selling for ₹3,500.

Snarky Puppy arrive in India on the back of releasing their most recent album Empire Central in 2022, which was recorded live-in-studio in Dallas and includes songs like “Freefall,” although fans are more likely to want their best known performances, including “Lingus” from the 2014 album We Like It Here.

Snarky Puppy bandleader Michael League spoke about India to Rolling Stone India in a video interview promoting his solo album Many of Me in 2021, “It’s a very special place in the world. One of the more unique places you can go in the world. One of the things is the people and culture, it’s very strong. I’m always waiting for the email that says, ‘All right, tour dates in India!’ Unfortunately, that email doesn’t come very often. I did some clinics at the True School of Music, but I’d love to come back as soon as possible.”
