‘SNL’: Watch Dijon Perform ‘Higher!,’ ‘Another Baby!’ From Latest Album

Dijon plays the two tracks from his acclaimed album, 'Baby'

Singer, songwriter, and producer Dijon debuted on Saturday Night Live with performances of tracks from his latest album, Baby.

Dijon opened with “Higher!,” which came out in August to positive reviews.

“Throughout the album, fragments of sounds — fiery adlibs, Golden Age hip-hop samples, whizzing, inverted vocal riffs — all jut out like beams of light piercing through the pitch black of night,” Rolling Stone‘s Jeff Ihaza wrote in a review.

After his 2021 debut album, Absolutely, Dijon told The FADER that he would “love to engage in the pop world with some of the more messy, far out sonic choices.”

He explained: “…[W]hat I’d like to see in five years is hopefully having some sort of ability to at least take a stab at other things that kind of take me out of my comfort zone, but maybe putting a different spin or a fingerprint or pulling out different versions of songwriting for people.”

Now 33, Dijon is coming off his work on Justin Bieber‘s Swag and Swag II, which came out a month before and after Baby, respectively. For his contributions to songs like “Daisies” and “Yukon,” he is nominated for Producer of the Year at next February’s Grammys.

Later on Saturday, Dijon also performed “Another Baby!”

Dijon is wrapping up a string of North American shows next week in Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis. Early next year he’ll be in western Europe.
