British pop singer and SNL host also starred in a sketch about a hip-hop producer who wants her to come up with a cool new tag for him, but she has other ideas

Saturday Night Live host and musical guest Dua Lipa performed two entries from her third studio album, Radical Optimism, which came out Friday.
After leading off with the dance track “Illusion,” the British pop star returned with “Happy For You,” the album’s closing single.
Lipa, Rolling Stone‘s cover artist back in January, told us then of her latest album: “I want to capture the essence of youth and freedom and having fun and just letting things happen, whether it’s good or bad. You can’t change it.”
Later in the show, Lipa featured in a music-themed sketch alongside Ego Nwodim where a hip-hop producer (Devon Walker) wants a new tag in the beginning of their song. During their recording session, however, the two singers come up with basically every option other than cool.
Lipa, whose European concert tour for Radical Optimism begins in Germany next month, was previously SNL‘s musical guest in December 2020, when she played two tracks from that year’s Future Nostalgia. Lipa debuted on the late night show in early 2018.
