After five weekends of hosting upcoming talent from the city and giving mall goers at R-City taste of alternative music, the Rolling Stone Stage series hosts its sixth and final edition with an exciting line-up that consists of singer-songwriters Praveer Barot and Shubhangi Joshi, The Howard Pereira Trio and folk/fusion group Folk Masti.

Praveer Barot has performed primarily as a solo artist, playing a number of venues across the city like Blue Frog, The Little Door and 3 Wise Monkeys as well as corporate gigs. His set list promises an entertaining mix of originals and covers of EDM hits. Says Barot, “I usually go with the flow, adapting my set-list according to what I think the audience will enjoy, which usually includes my rendition of pop/electronic classics.”

For a change, one of the bands performing at RS Stage will cover music by other Indian bands. Folk Masti is a fusion trio combining folk music with western elements and has a repertoire which includes a few catchy originals and a number of covers including songs by Bengaluru folk rock band The Raghu Dixit Project and Delhi folk rock group, Indian Ocean. By using instruments like the pianica, tabla and lead guitar, Folk Masti promises to bring some unique sounds to RS stage on Saturday.

Sunday kicks off with Shubhangi Joshi, who is slowly gaining a following and has performed at events such as the theatre festival Thespo and the recent YouTube Fanfest. Her forte being acoustic jazz, listeners can expect some mellow originals and covers of classics like Elvis Presley’s “Are You Lonesome Tonight.” The evening will wrap up with The Howard Pereira Trio performing an acoustic set for the first time.

Catch Praveer Barot and Folk Masti on Saturday, the 30th of May, 7pm onwards.
