In celebration of what would have been Sophie‘s 38th birthday, the influential avant-pop producer’s estate has unveiled the track list for her upcoming posthumous albumSophie. Out Sept. 27, the record will include 16 tracks with featured appearances from a wide variety of artists including Juliana Huxtable, Nina Kraviz, Hannah Diamond, and more.

Sophie will include the four previously released singles “Reason Why” with Kim Petras and BC Kingdom, “Berlin Nightmare” with Greek musician Evita Manji, “One More Time” with Popstar, and “Exhilarate” with German singer and songwriter Bibi Bourelly. New additions include collaborations with Jozzy, LIZ, Big Sister, Cecile Believe, and Doss.

LIZ and Sophie previously teamed up for “When I Rule the World,” a one-off single that LIZ released in 2015, and “High School Love,” from the pop artist’s album Cross Your Heart. The Jozzy track, “RAWWWWWW,” was first shared on SoundCloud four years ago, but never officially released. Other entires, like “Love Me Off Earth” with Doss and “My Forever” with Cecile Believe, also surfaced online in recent years.

Cecile Believe collaborated with Sophie throughout her career, including cutting lead and backing vocals for the producer’s 2018 album Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides, as well as co-writing songs across the project. Doss teamed up with Sophie in 2019 for a remix of “Whole New World,” the closing track from the same album.

“When we, Sophie’s family, took our first steps towards bringing this project to fruition we contacted the dear friends with whom she envisioned the album,” Sophie’s family shared in a statement in June. “We wrote, ‘We have been finding comfort in the music Sophie left us, it is a gift that we truly cherish as we try to find a way forward, with Sophie forever at the center of our worlds.’”

The statement continued: “Sophie didn’t often speak publicly of her private life, preferring to put everything she wanted to articulate in her music. It feels only right to share with the world the music she hoped to release, in the belief that we can all connect with her in this, the form she loved most.”

Celebrations of Sophie continued on Google as the search engine unveiled an honorary Google Doodle for the musician’s birthday. “Today’s Doodle celebrates the 38th birthday of Scottish musician, producer, and DJ Sophie Xeon (SOPHIE), who is remembered for her acclaimed experimental pop and electronic music,” a caption beneath the video tribute reads. The video features a portion of “Immaterial” from Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides.

Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides was the only full-length LP Sophie released before her death in 2021 at the age of 34. The Scottish-born artist died after accidentally slipping and falling while watching the full moon in Athens, Greece. In the months that followed, her brother Ben Long revealed to Billboard that there were “literally hundreds of tracks” in the vault, and that he wanted to “do right by Sophie” in releasing what she would have wanted.
