Strawberry Fields Festival Kicks Off In Bengaluru This Week
The eighteenth edition of National Law College’s annual band competition will be headlined by bands such as Inner Sanctum, Space Behind The Yellow Room and Baiju Dharmajan Syndicate
As far as legends go, Strawberry Fields Festival is one for the books. BeginningÂ in 1997Â withÂ a few students getting together to launchÂ theÂ inter-college bandÂ competition, Strawberry Fields quickly scaled up, moving from the sleepy suburb ofÂ NagarbhaviÂ to the iconic Palace Grounds.
Over the years, the festival has showcased some of the best Indian bands includingÂ Bhayanak Maut,Â Goddess Gagged,Â Motherjane, Demonic Resurrection and Peter Cat Recording Company.Â The eighteenth edition of the festival, held in association with Pepsi MTV Indies, will feature 40 upcoming and established bands includingÂ Apple Quartet,Â NurotiaÂ and Pineapple Express.
The featured acts on December 13th includeÂ New Delhi blues bandÂ The IncredibleÂ Mindfunk, Bengaluru post-rock band SpaceÂ Behind TheÂ Yellow Room as well asÂ theÂ KuruÂ Circus and Orchestra, a project by AriÂ JayaprakashÂ which is set to a graphicÂ novella.Â The lineup for December 14th includes acts such as Bengaluru blues band Chronic Blues Circus,Â Bengaluru death/thrash metal bandÂ Inner Sanctum andÂ Kochi-based Carnatic rock bandÂ BaijuÂ DharmajanÂ
