The pop rock band from Dimapur release a new single
Barely six months old, Polar Lights, a pop rock band from Dimapur, have found a receptive audience in their homecity. Regulars at Dimapur’s Jumping Bean Café, a popular venue supported by Nagaland’s Music Task Force, the band has released two singles previously, one of which [“Empty Hallway And A Candlelight”] features on the upcoming edition of Stupid Ditties.
The band is slated to perform at Ziro Music Festival this weekend. Their latest release, “Parade,” written two months ago, is out on Indihut, a Nagaland-based online music portal and available for Rs 30. Says frontman Mar Jamir, “The song is about our society in general, which is filled with corruption and subjugation. The song is about finding a way out and that silver lining,” adding that the band plans to release their debut album by next year.Â
