Stream: Petrichor’s New Single ”“ ‘Parasight: Comorbid’

Mumbai progressive metal band’s new single mashes it all up neatly

Published by

The latest bit of wordplay from Mumbai prog metal band Petrichor [pronounced “pe-trê-kor”] is called “Parasight: Comorbid,” a new single following their 2012 EP Hueman. The five-member band, formed in 2011, has taken a break from gigging to work on some new material with producer Adhiraj Singh [guitarist from djent band Noiseware] at Refractor Studios in Pune. The band competed at National Law School’s Strawberry Fields in November last year and is currently on the lookout for a new drummer to jam with. The six-minute single includes the harshest vocals layered over and over and movements that jump from haunting Opeth-like epic solos and Cynic-esque jazz fusion to slow-burn Meshuggah riffing.
