Composed by frontman Rahul Das, the single is from the Delhi electro/experimental rock band’s upcoming album ‘Tora’

When we last spoke to Delhi experimental rock band SundogProject’s vocalist-guitarist Rahul Das, he mentioned that their upcoming second album Tora was really meant to be heard in its entirety, and not via singles. Last week, however, SundogProject released the first song off Tora, “Tauro.” Das explains the move saying, “I still want people to listen to the entire album. But I wanted the release to be a prolonged event rather than a one-day affair.”
Das adds that Tora will be up for free download once he releases several, unspecified number of singles from the 22-track album in the coming weeks, to ease listeners into the sound of the album. Primarily written by Das, Tora concentrates on synth-based songs which comprise an 80-minute album. Says Das, “It’s thematically the same as [debut album] Hex 1/Visions, but every song is a mood in itself on Tora.”
Unlike last week’s release “Tauro,” Sundog’s new song “Tentacle” is layered, but sparse in melody, minus any drum loop, featuring Das’s vocals and 8-bit electro experiments. Listen to the track below.
