Ahead of the release of their debut album 'Tora', the Delhi-based experimental rock band will play in four cities
If tracks like “Tauro” and “Bicycle” are anything to go by, Delhi-based experimental band Sundogproject are taking a much darker direction with their hypnotic, electro-rock sound on their second album Tora. After putting out Hex 1/Visions in October 2013, the four-piece act is now stepping out of their hometown to play four cities as part of the pre-release tour.
Having single-handedly pulled off live sets in the past with a mic, synthesizer and guitar, founder and vocalist of Sundogproject Rahul Das, reveals that this time, the entire band [comprising drummer Shardul Mehta, guitarist Rahul Sainani and bassist Abhinav Chaudhary] will be playing with him, and that listeners expect the tracks to sound a little different. Says Das, “When I play these songs live, I always like them to be a little over-the-top. It’s always nice to change them around.”
Apart from performing new tracks like the massive-sounding “Peoaxi” and the harder-hitting, industrial “Disk” from the upcoming album [slated for release later this year] Sundogproject will also be throwing in older material such as “Parhelion” and “Witching Hour” from Hex1/Visions, as well as a previously unreleased track “Static,” at their upcoming gigs.
Sundogproject’s pre Tora tour includes the following cities:
September 23rd, Blue Frog, Pune with Pangea and Drawing Short Straws
September 24th, Boveda, Mumbai with Func Live
September 25th, Canvas by Salt, Bengaluru with Bevar Sea and Slo Hawk
14th October: Anti Social, Delhi with Pangea and Grammy Winning Effort
