Sunneith Revankar, frontman of Mumbai metal supergroup Providence, announced today that he has parted ways with the band. Revankar, who was recently nominated in the Best Vocalist category in the Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2012 for his work with Providence, posted the following announcement on his Facebook page.

“After much thought and consideration, I have decided to part ways with Providence. I find myself in a position where I cannot devote the time and effort that the band deserves.

This decision has been quite difficult for me to make because I will be losing out on making music with these talented musicians. I have had much fun in the time that I have been with the band and I am awfully proud of the music I’ve made with them. I would like to thank Charan, Kanti, Shezan, and Aaron for the good times. A special thank you to the fans for the unconditional support. I wish Providence nothing but the best for the future.”

Providence was formed in March 2011 and featured Revankar (Bhayanak Maut) on vocals, Charan Singh Patania (Chronic Phobia) and Shezan Shaikh (ex-Sceptre) on guitars, Shrikanth Rao (Chronic Phobia) on bass, Aaron Pinto (Bloodshed, Gutslit) on drums. The band has been nominated in seven out of eight categories in the Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2012 for their debut album Vanguard. The band is yet to announce a replacement for Revankar.
