Super Junior-D&E In India: An Up Close Interview with Donghae & Eunhyuk

Nov.1, 2025 was a K-pop lover’s dream come true—Mumbai’s K-Town festival was back for its third season, and the city came alive with a star-studded lineup featuring Taemin (of Shinee), Super Junior-D&E, Yedam, Jey, and OneWe. Even in the heat, fans were grinning from ear to ear, decked out in K-pop merchandise, snapping photos at every opportunity.

As music took center stage, the energy reached a fever pitch, turning the space into a massive sing-along moment. Korean street food was a bonus, a call to take a break and to give in to their cravings. And amid all the excitement, an up-close interaction with Super Junior-D&E became a highlight of an already amazing experience for us.

Squeezing through the crowd that was screaming “Oppa Oppa,” we managed to get a brief FaceTime with the artists. They were still riding high on the thrill of their performance, and it showed. “Hello India! We are Super Junior-D&E. It’s our first time visiting India, and we’re so excited to finally meet our fans here.” Eunhyuk said, a hint of a grin in his eyes.

Elaborating on meeting the fans and connecting with a live Indian audience, he added, “We’ve been looking forward to this moment and have prepared extensively for the time we’ll spend with you.” He was also hinting at an exciting future visit, promising that the entire Super Junior group would join them next time.

With over a decade of hits under their belt and 20 years of experience in the industry, Super Junior-D&E is still winning over fans worldwide. The unit, initially conceived as a one-off project, turned into a full-fledged, flourishing career, thanks to Donghae and Eunhyuk’s chemistry and performances, with hits like “Oppa Oppa,” “Growing Pains,” “‘Bout You,” and “Danger” that have become a defining part of their legacy. And as they continue to share their music with new and longtime fans alike, Donghae expressed his gratitude: “This is our first time in India in 20 years of activity. We’re thrilled, and we know that many fans who love us and K-pop have come to see us. We want to share our music and get closer to you through performances and songs you haven’t seen or heard before.”

The artist’s discography ranges from EDM-infused bangers to soulful R&B ballads. Like wide-eyed tourists in a new city, India is a revelation for them, a land of new sights, sounds, and unique experiences. “Since it’s our first visit, we’re also excited about trying Indian food—especially curry, which is so famous. We’re curious about many cultural aspects and will try to experience as much as possible during our short stay,” Eunhyuk said. As the conversation drew to a close, the duo turned reflective about this experience. “This opportunity allows us to meet fans we haven’t met before, including our ELF fans. We realize there are still many places we haven’t visited and many fans we haven’t met. We’ll continue to be active and create more chances to meet all of you.”
