Super Junior’s vocalist Yesung is all set to release his first Korean full-length album this month. The announcement comes roughly two years following the release of his fourth EP Beautiful Night (May 2021).
In a statement shared with Herald Pop, Super Junior’s agency Label SJ confirmed that the singer is “in the midst of preparing a studio album” and intends to release it “at the end of this month.” The untitled album will mark Yesung’s first Korean studio album, following his 2019 Japanese LP Story. In October 2022, Yesung joined forces with Mamamoo’s Solar on the digital single “After Love.”
Yesung debuted as a soloist in 2016 with his first EP Here I Am. Since then, the Super Junior member has released three EPs – Spring Falling, Pink Magic and Beautiful Night – along with several digital singles and OSTs.
In July 2022, Yesung along with Super Junior members Kyuhyun, Leeteuk, Siwon, Ryeowook, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Shindong and Heechul released their 11th EP The Road: Kepp on Going Vol.1. Led by the flirty summer anthem “Mango,” the EP crowned Super Junior as the first group under SM Entertainment to release 11 albums, setting a new milestone for them. The feat also makes them one of the longest-running idol groups in the K-pop industry. To promote the release, the group embarked on a world tour titled Super Show 9: Road. Commencing in Seoul, the ongoing tour covers 22 shows in 12 cities.
With hits like “Sorry Sorry,” “Mr. Simple,” “Bonamana,” Mamacita,” “Lo Siento” and more, Super Junior have been instrumental in spreading the Hallyu Wave and continue to demonstrate an unshakable willingness and grit to continue growing and adding pages to the history of K-pop.
