Director James Gunn’s superhero epic arrives July 11

Superman single-handedly stops wars, fights villains, and faces Lois Lane’s intense line of questioning in the latest trailer for the DC blockbuster soaring into multiplexes this July.
The preview opens with David Corenswet’s Clark Kent answering inquiries from Rachel Brosnahan’s Lane, who — as opposed to previous Superman movies — is fully aware that Kent moonlights as the Man of Steel.
The interview serves as a gateway to share new clips from the film, including copious villain fights coordinated by Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, new looks at DC heroes like Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern and Isabel Merced’s Hawkgirl, and visits to Kent’s boyhood Kansas home.
“In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind,” Warner Bros. Discovery added in a synopsis.
“There’s a lot of these things in this movie now that I’ve been making it for over a year that I think of as normal. But now when you bring it up, I go, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s pretty unusual,’” Gunn shared earlier this year in a press junket. “We just start in the middle of the action. Superman’s already existing. Lois and Clark already know each other. Lex hates Superman’s guts from the beginning, although they don’t know each other personally. So we start right in the middle of the action. It takes place over a short amount of time.”
Superman, which will kick-start a new DC Cinematic Universe, arrives July 11.
