Actor Taha Shah Badussha was recently among those in attendance Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 33rd Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party in Hollywood, California, making him the only male Indian actor to be at the Oscars party.
Known for his role in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s limited series Heeramandi, Badussha joined Hollywood elite at the exclusive AIDS Foundation fundraiser on Mar. 2, 2025, which was attended by the likes of artists Chappell Roan, Hozier, Diplo, Brandi Carlile, Eric Nam, Laufey, Lance Bass (from N*Sync), actors Neil Patrick Harris, Elizabeth Hurley and more.
Badussha said in a statement about being at the event, “Sir Elton John is a legendary legend. And to be in his presence, and see him at work, was a truly surreal feeling. Seeing him live, is a once in a lifetime experience. He was singing and dancing and playing the piano like it was no one’s business and that was an inspiring sight to behold. This will be one of the best gatherings that I have attended, a core-memory unlocked for a lifetime.”
The actor will next be seen in the Bollywood movie Paro, described as a “a social drama focusing on bridal slavery.” Directed by filmmaker Gajendra Vitthal Ahire, the film’s teaser was released at Cannes Film Festival last year and is slated for release later in 2025.
